Viktor Benev

Viktor Benev's latest solo album "Cross Origin Affair" releases on the 3th of October and features influences from Eastern and Bulgarian traditional music, atmospheric electronica, trip-hop, house culture, drum'n'bass heritage, dance floor and ambient music. Viktor's passion for music became evident during his childhood. Starting with professional classical music studies in percussion and piano at the age of six, he quickly gained recognition at numerous international competitions and European orchestral and chamber music tours. In search of a natural medium for artistic expression, at the age of 17, Viktor approached jazz, composition and improvisation through an autodidactic learning method, which he later developed further with a Masters degree in the renowned Paris National Conservatory of Music. As a keen aficionado of electronic music, he started an exploratory journey in sound architecture, which led him to the foundation of his own label enovae records and producing studio albums. From 2018 on, he started experimenting with recording, sampling, mixing, dedicating his time in search for emotionally-driven glitch or error-based, eclectic, niche sonic universes. He has produced music for Crystal Sound Project, which were nominated at the Independent Music Awards (2020) and at the Paris Lift-Off Film Festival (2024). His artistic output outreaches to creating music for : dance companies, dance classes, visual art installations, chamber ensembles and big bands.
