Biography & Metadata

Ladaniva, led by the captivating Armenian vocalist Jaklin Baghdasaryan and French multi-instrumentalist Louis Thomas, champions a richly diverse world music sound shaped by sonic memories gathered throughout their travels. Blending traditional Armenian music with Balkan rhythms, maloya, jazz, reggae and contemporary pop, the duo transcends folklore to forge a singular, vibrant and instantly recognisable identity: the sound of Ladaniva. Their infectious energy has led to international success with tracks such as “Kef Chilini”, an anthem sung at celebrations across the Armenian diaspora and boasting more than 26 million YouTube views, the zesty pop track “Shakar”, and “Jako”, which brought Ladaniva to tens of millions of viewers when they represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024. Their Eurovision breakthrough helped propel the duo to an even wider international audience. In 2026, Ladaniva returns with a bold and energetic second album, set for release on 13 November 2026. Its first single, “Yasaman,” is already out.
