MELODIC, PROGRESSIVE, MODERN: Avelion aims to overpower genre classification thereby creating a new form: Modern Metal mixed with Progressive influences and Melody The band was founded in Parma (Italy) in 2008 and in 2011 released the first studio work: the EP "Cold Embrace". The following year AVELION played as opening act for Seventh Wonder (with Tommy Karevik, Kamelot). In 2012 the band released "Falling Down" feat. guitarist Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth, Vision Divine) "Liquid Breathing", was published in 2013. The EP delivers a more personal, modern and mature sound: Melodic Progressive Metal mixed with Djent influences, all combined with a strong Electronic personality. In 2015 the band entered Domination Studio of Simone Mularoni (DGM) to record their first full length album: "Illusion of Transparency" that will be released on April 7th, 2017 via Revalve Records. In March 2018 AVELION will be on Tour supporting the legendary ANGRA and Geoff Tate between Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain and Portugal! In May 2018 the band release the single "Echoes and Fragments" feat. The Algorithm In June 2022 Riccardo Rizzardelli replaces William as the new singer of the band and the new single "Bound To Blackness" will be out at the end of the month. The following single is "Alone In Time", released in October 2023, which represents a new step in the band’s sonic landscape
