Biography & Metadata

Project Reverb is the songwriting vehicle of John Huggart, a boring corporate guy who loves hanging around with creative people. He is a lifelong musician, drummer, guitarist and bassist who made ends meet with a decidedly less rock-and-roll career in the corporate world. As a songwriter he has earned recognition locally and internationally, including as “runner up” in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Faith, Hope & Love . His recording history stretches back to 1988 when he released a vinyl single with the band Jang Rok and earned his first royalties from radio airplay. In 2021 John created Project Reverb as a home for his songs rather than a traditional band with a fixed lineup or sound. Working with different singers, musicians and producers allows each song to find the people and production it needs, with pop and rock providing the broad musical territory. In 2025 he launched the YouTube channel “Indie, Over 50”. What began as a way to navigate independent release and marketing for older musicians has grown into a community of more than 6,000 subscribers with Spotify and YouTube playlists supporting fellow independent artists. He may describe himself as a former unemployed rock star, who is now an unemployed, whiskey drinking, CEO, but Project Reverb tells the other half of the story - the songwriter who never stopped collaborating or wondering what the next song might become.
