Total Hip Replacement

Total Hip Replacement is known for its energetic and unique live concerts. The music grows from solid roots of reggae, soul, afro and indie, uniting pulsating grooves, colourful horn riffs and soul drenched vocals. The sound is warm and hopeful, but the messages are direct and revolve around the worrying direction in which the world is turning. Live the band creates an inclusive space, bubbling with infectious playfulness. 2022-2024 has been explosive years for the band seeing the release of the “Anyankofo” album and extensive touring in Europe, South America and West Africa with more than 120 shows and thousands of listeners. Both album and live-shows were critically acclaimed with good reviews in magazines and radio. This culminated with succesful performances at legendary festivals such as Bout Du Monde (FR) and Reggae Jam (DE). In September 2024 the band is back with a new album “Would It Be The Same”, exploring a more intimate side of the band. The album was self-recorded on the road in Brazil and in the bands studio. Facing both global issues and personal sides of life, the album seeks to explore the cracks in society and in ourselves. The album is followed by an extensive release-tour in Denmark, Greenland, Germany and Switzerland throughout the autumn and winter of 2025. Simultaneously the band has just returned from a writing trip to Ghana, and a new phase in the Anyankofo project is in the horizon..
