Biography & Metadata

Born in Luanda and raised in Windhoek, Angolan singer and songwriter Florito brings a distinctly Lusophone identity to contemporary African pop. His sound moves through Afrobeats and Afropop while drawing elements from semba, Congolese rumba, and kuduro using these influences as building blocks rather than being defined by any one genre. Growing up between his Angolan roots and life in Namibia exposed Florito to different cultures and sounds from an early age. That cross-cultural perspective became central to his music, combining melody and rhythm with influences stretching across Southern, Central, and West Africa. Florito’s earlier work includes “Tamagotchi,” as well as collaborations such as Carla Prata’s “Desculpa” and records with Dinorath and Black Spygo, including “Over Again” and “Set.” As his sound developed, releases such as “Accelerate,” “Supa,” “Kannot Compare,” and “Lisabonna” helped establish his evolving musical identity. His collaboration with Nigerian artist BNXN on “Stamina” further connected Florito with the wider African music scene, while releases such as “Melaço” continued to expand his sound. His latest release, “Well Well,” represents the newest chapter in that journey connecting his Angolan roots, Windhoek upbringing, and international perspective through a sound built to move beyond borders.
