When a 20-year-old Thomas Dybdahl released his first EPs at the dawn of the millennium, he was just a small blip on the Norwegian musical radar. But his breakthrough debut album *…that great October sound* in 2002 changed everything. Armed with a dogmatic one-microphone approach, a soulful tenor voice, and an intimate acoustic sound, he quickly captured the attention of listeners and critics alike, growing a dedicated global fanbase. Beyond his solo career, Dybdahl is a versatile composer for film and theatre, scoring the Danish feature *The Penultimate*. His collaborative spirit has also led him to guest appearances with diverse acts ranging from Morcheeba and Melanie Pain to folk icon Judy Collins. Dybdahl early on caught the ear of tastemakers like LA’s KCRW, as well as heavyweights like Elvis Costello and Jamie Cullum.
