Northside

NORTHSiDE is an alternative hip-hop artist from the North side of Chicago and is currently based in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. North’s struggles come from battling mental health challenges and finding himself in a world of being overlooked, doubted, misunderstood, and mistreated. The I in NORTHSiDE is lower case to symbolize how North has felt throughout the years. The I in NORTHSiDE represents him and all the other capital letters represent the society around him. Even though the I is lowercase, NORTHSiDE chooses to view it as being an underdog and beating the odds.
At the age of 17, North started his music journey. North self-taught himself the art of music production, studio recording, and audio engineering. North puts lots of meaning into every single step of the process of his work. His goal is to make a positive impact on society as a whole with the end hope of bringing humanity closer together.
NORTHSiDE's sound is very unique. His music has a psychedelic hip-hop/alternative hip-hop/dark-trap production style like you would hear on tracks produced by Mike Dean, Metro Boomin', and Kanye West. His lyrics can be classified as conscious rap with a meaning within every lyric (some deeper than others) aspiring from artists such as Eminem, Hopsin, Joyner Lucas, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole with a fusion of melodic hip-hop and heavier auto-tuned processed vocals like a mix of Juice WRLD's vocal tone (R.I.P. 12.8.19) and Travis Scott's vocal production.
