Mulay

Mulay is a Berlin-based alternative/R&B singer-songwriter, producer, and artist whose work serves as a raw expression of unfiltered thoughts, emotions, and inner conflicts. She began her musical journey as a jazz and pop student in the Netherlands, where her early band projects ignited a passion for a multidisciplinary approach to art. In a world where commercial media often reduces complex ideas to simplistic, one-dimensional narratives, Mulay seeks to convey the true depth and diversity of perspectives through her artistry. This is evident in her previous works such as ANTRACYTE and IVORY. She translates this multidimensionality into her music, visuals, movement, and live performances, striving for an interdisciplinary fusion that defies conventional boundaries. Detached from the purely auditory level, she infuses her music with a powerful, transformative quality. This unique approach has led to numerous collaborations like her work with Soundwalk Collective on the score for the documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed about Nan Goldin and has earned praise from outlets such as Musikexpress, Zeit Magazine and Vogue Germany. This November (2024) she will release her highly anticipated debut Album „LAVENDER“, a deeply personal project, rooted in a very intense, painful and kind of traumatic experience of toxic love, that turned into a testimony of resilience, healing and growth via Grönland Records.
