Low Jack

Born in 1985 in Tegucigalpa in Honduras, Philippe Hallais, known as Low Jack, is a Paris-based French composer. Author of many albums on various labels such as PAN, STROOM and Modern Love, he also co-directed Éditions Gravats from 2014 to 2021. He expresses himself through a vast formal field, touching on musical composition, theatrical performance, movie directing and the staging of live shows. His unique sound blends dancehall and sound art, resulting in dubby and futuristic mutations of the Caribbean sound. For over a decade, Low Jack has been a restless innovator, constantly redrawing the boundaries of electronic subcultures. As the driving mind behind Editions Gravats, he championed a sound that merges Latin rhythms, industrial textures, and Electroacoustic experimentations, a blend that has quietly shaped what now feels familiar across the global underground.
