Toruń Symphony Orchestra

Założona jako Toruńska Orkiestra Kameralna w sezonie artystycznym 1978/79, pod zarząd Miasta Toruń przeszła w 1990 roku. Zespół wpisał się na stałe w kulturalny krajobraz miasta, poprzez organizowanie koncertów dla mieszkańców Torunia i sławiąc jego imię na licznych tournee krajowych i zagranicznych. Toruńska Orkiestra Symfoniczna na przestrzeni swojej działalności dała blisko trzy tysiące koncertów we wszystkich znaczących miastach Polski oraz w wielu krajach Europy. Od 1997 roku jest organizatorem Międzynarodowego Festiwalu "Nova Muzyka i Architektura", a od 2013 r. Międzynarodowego Festiwalu i Konkursu Skrzypcowego im. Karola Lipińskiego.---------The Orchestra was founded in the artistic season of 1978/79 and performed under the auspices of the City of Toruń (Poland) since 1990. The orchestra has gained a firm standing among many other cultural institutions in Toruń. This is due to the concerts performed in Toruń as well as at numerous tourneés, both in Poland and abroad. In the course of their artistic activity, the orchestra played in most of Polish cities, in many European countries (e.g. Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Italy, France, Belarus, Lithuania) and at many prestigious festivals. Among the significant achievements of the Toruń Orchestra is the International Festival ‘Nova Music and Architecture’ (organized every year since 1997) and International Karol Lipinski Violin Festival and Competition.
