Maya Maunet

Next-generation pop/R&B singer-songwriter Maya Simmonds, born in 2000 in Toronto, originally launched her music career as a form of self-expression and personal growth. She quickly realized that singing was the ultimate cure to her speech disorder growing up. In the ensuing years, Maunet found a calling in performing live and adored connecting with her audience by singing covers of her favourite artists such as Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, and Ella Fitzgerald. She was requested to headline for Judith Hill & Ayanna Witter-Johnson at a music festival in Echternach, as well as Max Giesinger at the Absolut Bartréng festival in Bertrange, and Martha Da’Ro at Neimenster in Luxembourg city. In early 2021, she released her debut single “Can I Stick Around,” which was played regularly on Luxembourgish radios such as ‘Ara Radio’ and ‘Eldo Radio’. Later that year, she had the pleasure of performing it live with an original orchestral arrangement by composer Gast Waltzing and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg on New Year’s Day. In 2025, Maya participated in The Voice France, where her jazzy and soulful performance caught the attention of both judges and the public. This opportunity allowed her to expand her reach, connecting with new audiences and strengthening her reputation as a rising star in the music industry. The experience opened new doors for Maya, helping her solidify her place as an artist with a powerful voice and a unique story in the industry.
