Biography & Metadata
Hello Clarice is an American Alt/Country Rock duo featuring Jonah Michea Judy and Andy Amsden. Hailing from the west coast, they released "Longshot," a 5 song EP, in 2019 which received immediate critical acclaim. In 2024 they released three new songs: "Coiled in the Shade," "Take Me Home To Carolina," and "Turn The Lights Down," which is their number one hit to date, with over 150,000 streams on Spotify. In 2025 the band released two new singles "Mile High" and "Shoe String Falling." Amsden's guitars are nostalgic, evoking 90's rock with pop sensibilities of the 60's, and his tones range from overdriven Wah Wah (Abrasion) to 12 string acoustic (Carolina,) which result in a layered and rich listening experience. Judy's vocals are dynamic, smokey, and cutting, satisfying an itch that so many have had since the loss of singers like Cobain and Cornell. Judy's lyrics are balanced between satirical and sincere, surreal and direct, repremanding and sweet, and the songs seem to hold onto life with a driving gratitude and unique lived experience. The multi-platinum recording engineer George Dum performs drums for the band and mixes and masters their music as well. The entire Hello Clarice catalogue is worth adding to your playlist.
