Continental Lovers

With razor-sharp hooks, raw energy and unapologetic swagger, Continental Lovers are rapidly establishing themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting new rock ’n’ roll bands. Hailed by Vive Le Rock as looking like “the illegitimate sons of Johnny Thunders,” the Nottingham outfit fuse the attitude of late-'70s punk with the infectious melodies of classic power-pop. Founded by frontman Joe Maddox, what began as a solo project has evolved into a formidable live act featuring guitarist Ben Webster and bassist Kerri Kaysen. Drawing inspiration from icons such as the Ramones and New York Dolls, Continental Lovers deliver high-energy, hook-laden songs that balance grit, melody and attitude in equal measure. At the heart of the band's growing reputation is Maddox's gift for songwriting. From fan favourites like Connection and the darker edged Screwing Your Life Up to their latest single, the beautifully crafted Ghost of Paris Square, Continental Lovers combine infectious choruses with heartfelt storytelling and an unmistakable rock ’n’ roll spirit. Following standout appearances at Rebellion Festival and Call of the Wild, extensive touring across the UK, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia and Spain, and radio airplay in more than 50 countries, the band's momentum continues to accelerate. With a new album on the horizon and an ever-growing international following, Continental Lovers are proving that high-voltage rock ’n’ roll is alive, thriving, and ready to make some serious noise.
