Biography & Metadata
The Sway, original indie rockers born out of North London, UK, in 1989, are David (Vocals, Guitar), Paul (Bass), Jim (Guitars) & Sean (Drums). Initially splitting in 1995, they returned briefly in 2011. A 13 year hiatus followed before the 2024 comeback with brand new music, plus a digital release of the back catalogue. Praise for the 1993 EP 'Silk': “Whether you’re discovering their music for the first time or revisiting a beloved classic, Silk proves some sounds never lose their magic.” – Rotate Magazine Praise for the 1995 EP ‘Going Blind’: “Not many bands could re-release music 30 years later & find it still sounds as fresh & creative as it did back in the day" - Dave Franklin, The Big Takeover Praise for the 2011 LP ‘When Worlds Collide’: “Messy, imperfect & utterly alive. A battle scar, a reunion, a refusal to fade into the past.” - Illustrate Magazine Praise for the 2024 EP ‘Songs for Then & Now’: “A reflection of the band’s maturity. It delivers an authentic & inspiring sound. Emotive vocals against a backbone of rich instrumentation” - Indie Noise Nation. Praise for the 2026 single 'Twice In A Lifetime': "A reminder of why we dig into the archives in the first place. 'Twice' doesn’t just survive its ’90s origins; it transcends them!" - Farah Ahmed, No apologies magazine. Praise for the 2026 single 'The Grief': "If this is the direction they’re heading in, then The Sway being “back on the rise” doesn’t feel like hype, it feels earned." - Vera, korliblog.com
