Music to transport you to another world... or at least to a field of wildflowers with a gentle breeze blowing through the trees. We are Char and Steve, the two halves of Whalebone. We met over 20 years ago through a shared love of guitars and have been writing, composing, and recording acoustic guitar music rooted in the woods, meadows and green lanes that surround our tiny studio in Shropshire ever since. New albums What They Do and Almanac released 2025 :) We are passionate about creating beautiful, moving and melodic music that is strongly influenced by our home near the River Severn and hope our music can carry you to the wild places that surround us. Our music, both as Whalebone and our dreamy, ambient alter egos The Bare Bones and Earthbone, has been streamed over 50 million times worldwide and heard by audiences at over 800 live performances. We are excited to share our music with you and can't wait to see where our musical journey takes us next.
