Biography & Metadata
Damien Cain is an Ireland-based songwriter, singer and producer whose music moves between alternative metal, dark rock, gothic melancholy and emotionally charged storytelling. In 2026, his song “Standarte” won "Best European Metal" at the InterContinental Music Awards 2026, marking a new international milestone in a career defined by reinvention, independence and a refusal to stay within genre boundaries. Active since the late 1980s, Cain first gained underground recognition with CAIN, most notably through “Age of Darkness” an international cult track awarded the IMPALA Diamond Award for more than 250,000 copies sold. He has written lyrics for L’Âme Immortelle, collaborated with Sir Christopher Lee on “Elenore”, and has appeared in the German charts several times. Now based in Ireland, Cain returned under his own name with "STANDARTE", a deeply personal album blending alternative metal, darkwave atmosphere, cinematic melancholy and introspection. The album entered the German and American Alternative Charts and received international radio airplay across Europe, North and South America and Asia. Damien Cain supports akt, the LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity, helping LGBTQ+ young people aged 16–25 who are facing homelessness, unsafe housing or hostile environments.
