Biography & Metadata

The best way to get to know me as an artist is to watch my music videos and the behind the scenes content I post on my Instagram @johnnyfantana. I started out making retro pop type music because I love that old timey early 20th century sound and I wanted to “find a niche”. After my first 6-7 releases, I shifted to making feel good music because I didn’t want to be boxed into a genre and wanted to be able to make music with my friends and other local artists who might want to stay within a genre themselves. So now my shtick is “feel good music with friends” and I don’t care what genre it is. I self produce all my music and music videos A-Z. I try my best to make the whole thing a cohesive piece of art. I even feel like the marketing part is art as well and I enjoy it. Some of the artists that have been inspiring me lately are Laufey, Sarah Kang, Jackson Lundy, grentperez, Micah Edwards, Charlie Burg, BoyWithUke, Arden Jones, Paul Russell, Forrest Frank, and GRAHAM. Irl I go by John and I’m a regular guy who use to work in software and finally decided switch to music full time. I’m not trying to be famous. Since I started doing this I get up every morning excited to get to work and that is enough for me. I also run a music promo outfit on the side called Austin Music Love (@austinmusiclove on IG) where I provide free promo for local artists, put on shows, do booking, host open mics and just try to help out and be a part of the Austin music community.
