Tolou

Tolou’s genre-blending sound, which she calls Afro-Scandi Pop, fuses the cool, atmospheric textures of her former home Tromsø, with the vibrant rhythms and textures of her African heritage. Her voice moves effortlessly between soul, pop, and gospel, but her music is about more than sound. The name Tolou, meaning “sunrise” in Nigerian, reflects Tolou’s musical identity perfectly - her music is about light, and joy, especially in moments when those things feel distant. Tolou’s music is shaped by diverse influences, from Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Burna Boy, Robyn, Dua Lipa, and Bruno Mars, to Tolou’s greatest inspirations, Rihanna, and Beyoncé. She has starred in the Norwegian drama series Saving the F* Planet, collaborated with fashion brands including Hugo Boss, L'Oreal, and H&M, and played a number of big festival dates last summer, including Norway’s Oya.
