Biography & Metadata

Malak is an Egyptian alt-pop artist bending the rules of Arabic alternative music. Her work is rooted in instinct, with her hometown, Cairo, as the backdrop of everything she makes at her Zamalek studio. Her EP MIRAGE marked the beginning of her world - where softness and tension sit side by side, without needing to resolve. Her songs “ANANI,” “KEDA,” and “GHAZAL” were featured in the Egyptian classic El Sellem Wel Te3ban 2, marking a milestone moment that connected her sound to one of Egypt’s most beloved film legacies. On stage, Malak has opened for international acts including Oscar and the Wolf, Ghostly Kisses, and Balthazar, translating her sound into a live presence that speaks for itself. Shaped by her journey as an Arab woman, her perspective is intentional and unapologetic, often blending emotion, edge, and truth into a distinct voice that’s entirely her own. Malak’s work exists as it is - rooted in where she’s from, what she’s lived, and how she chooses to say it.
