REASON

California rapper REASON built his name through relentless work ethic, sharp lyricism, and a Carson-bred perspective that took him from independent mixtapes to Top Dawg Entertainment. After seven years with TDE, he announced his departure in 2024 and stepped into a new independent chapter with the launch of his own imprint, Do More Records. A former college basketball player who once had an opportunity to play professionally overseas, REASON chose music instead, eventually earning attention with his 2017 project There You Have It. He signed to TDE in 2018, made an immediate statement with “The Soul,” appeared on Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III, and released his major-label debut New Beginnings in 2020 before following with Porches in 2023. Now independent, REASON has used Do More Records to reintroduce himself on his own terms. His post-TDE run includes I Love You Again, I Love You Again (Extended), Everything In My Soul_BLUE, Everything In My Soul_BLUE (Extended), and 2026’s Moving Towards Love_PINK. The new era finds him balancing the lyricism that built his foundation with a more open, melodic, and self-directed creative approach.
