An instrumental group formed in Japan 2003, consisting of the bass, drums and guitar. "Hyakkei" in Japanese literally translates to mean 'hundreds of landscapes' - and when you listen to Hyakkei's songs, you'll come to understand why Hyakkei is a fitting name for a sensational group, whose sounds will bring hyakkei to all their listeners. Drummer and composer KEN TANAKA is now based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where he continues to write and release music as a solo artist. For listeners who enjoy Hyakkei’s melodic instrumental sound, his solo work continues that feeling in a more intimate, loop-based form. 百景のサウンドは、ギター・ベース・ドラムの最小限の編成、あくまでシンプルに楽器の響きを活かしたアンサンブルで、聴けば聴くほど味が出るような奥深さ、叙情的なサウンドスケープを描くところにその持ち味がある。 2003年、3人で、楽器だけで自分たちの音楽を表現しようとスタート。 2006年にファーストアルバム『Standing Still in a Moving Scene』をリリース。 2007年から2008年にかけては、アメリカ・テキサス州でのＳＸＳＷ(サウス・バイ・サウスウェスト)や台湾の野外音楽フェスティバル(野台開唱)に出演するなど、国内外で数々のステージに立ち、多彩なジャンルのアーティスト達と共演。 2009年６月、セカンドアルバム『おくりもの』を自身のレーベル「neiro」からリリース。その全国ツアーでは各地盛況のまま、ファイナル公演を心斎橋クラブクアトロでおこなう。 2010年4月、ミニアルバム『とおくをつなぐもの』リリース。心斎橋クラブクアトロを含む全24本の全国ツアーをおこなう。 2012年以降はゆったりとしたペースで活動を行っている。 ドラマー兼作曲のたなかけんは、現在は台湾・高雄を拠点にソロアーティストとして活動を続けている。2026年6月19日、最新ソロアルバム『あしおと』をリリース。
