Biography & Metadata
Scott Tixier is a jazz violinist and composer known for his work with Stevie Wonder, Adele, Jon Batiste, Kenny Barron, Chris Potter, Anthony Braxton, John Legend, Elton John and Roger Waters. Born in a small town near Paris in 1986, Tixier grew up in an artistic family with a mother who is a dance teacher and pianist, a father who is an actor. His twin brother, Tony Tixier who is a jazz pianist. Tixier began taking violin lessons at age five. Tixier has been appearing on TV shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on NBC, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as well as the previous format with David Letterman, The Late Night with Seth Meyers. Tixier performed the violin solo for on Evil Man Blues on John Wick (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and was also featured in the score of the The Lion King (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Hans Zimmer and soloist in Jon Batiste ‘s American Symphony Theme Guitarist Pat Metheny says, "[Scott] has found a place for himself within the elite community of New York jazz musicians, no small feat." Jean-Luc Ponty said "I have heard Scott's recordings, seen his live performances and I think that he stands above the crowd of current jazz violinists around the world."
