Something Greater

Something Greater is a group of church friends from Shreveport, Louisiana. The group’s founders, Caleb and Karie McEntire, started sharing music after the loss of Caleb‘s father. Caleb wrote the song “Something Greater (Faith, Hope, Love)” while in the hospital room with his dad. The Lord used this testimony to grow Caleb and his family. The song was written with the prayer that it could help others going through loss and trials to look for God‘s goodness and purposes in these times. As the Bible tells us in James, we are to consider it pure joy whenever we face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance. The name “Something Greater” comes from the passage 1 Corinthians 13:12–13. During our time on earth, we see only a reflection as in a mirror - “now we only know in part”. As believers, we have the assured hope of heaven where we will see face-to-face, meaning we will see God’s sovereign hand in every situation and circumstance we go through – “then I shall know fully”. The passage continues, “ and now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Something Greater desires to create music that will point listeners to something greater in every aspect of life. With our worship, our relationships, our families, our mountaintops, and our valleys. Everything we do as believers should point others to Christ. Everything we go through, whether good or bad, God uses for something greater!
