Biography & Metadata

Electro/indie/rap combo Sisyphus first appeared in 2012 under the project name s / s / s, referring to the names of its three collaborators: indie songwriter Sufjan Stevens, electronic artist Son Lux, and rapper Serengeti. The trio originally formed around Serengeti, who invited a number of artists, Stevens among them, to collaborate on a potential new album of his. Pleased with Stevens' contributions, he sent a track to Son Lux, who then put his own stamp on it. The three musicians decided to release the resulting song "Museum Day" as a trio under the s / s / s logo. A debut EP called Beak & Claw followed. Changing their name to Sisyphus, the group completed their self-titled debut LP which was released in March 2014. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
