Biography & Metadata
“With crystal-clear touch, she brings original tonal colors and rich modulations vividly to life.” (Darmstädter Echo) In her playing, sound unfolds with clarity and depth, shaped by refined sensitivity to color and line. Mayuko is acclaimed for her “intensive, subtle variety” and for the way she “penetrates deeply into the essence of music and conveys it with sensitive intensity” (klassik.com). Born in Japan, she completed her artistic training and postgraduate studies at the HMT Rostock in Germany with distinction. A decisive influence came from her time in Poland, where her affinity for Chopin’s musical language deepened into a lasting artistic focus. Her concert activity has taken her across Europe and to Japan, where she has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Mecklenburg Chamber Soloists, the Vorpommern Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Kalisz Symphony Orchestra, as well as at festivals including the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Her recordings include Romantic Works for Flute and Piano (Genuin) and several chamber and solo productions. A particular highlight is her solo album Harmony, presented in release concerts at major venues including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Alongside her performing career, she has long been dedicated to teaching at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre and has served as Jury President of the International Music Arts Piano Concours in Fukuoka.
