The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) arrives November 13 via MCA, ahead of Lionsgate’s worldwide theatrical release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping on November 20, 2026. Executive produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson), the album unites 29 artists across genres. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film follows 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) of District 12 on the morning of the 50th Annual Hunger Games, known as the Second Quarter Quell. With twice the number of tributes, it is the largest Games yet. Set in Panem 24 years before The Hunger Games, Haymitch enters the arena, forms an unlikely alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace) and joins a coalition intent on defying the Capitol under President Snow (Ralph Fiennes). As the competition intensifies, Haymitch risks everything to undermine the Games from within, helping ignite the rebellion that will transform Panem forever. Based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the film also stars Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr. It is produced by Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Francis Lawrence, from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie. Published by Scholastic and released by Lionsgate, the franchise’s five films have earned more than $3.3 billion worldwide and expanded into theme parks, experiences, live events and a major London stage production
