Frank Mabeat

Born on 19 November 2001 in the small village of Taninga, Mozambique, and raised in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, Frank Ngwenya, professionally known as Frank Mabeat, is a DJ and self-taught producer whose passion for music began at an early age. Growing up in a musical environment, Frank drew much of his early inspiration from his brothers, who were rappers, with one also working as a producer. His fascination with music production began in 2010, while he was still in Grade 2. What started as experimenting with production software and learning from his brothers soon developed into a genuine passion for creating music. Frank initially explored genres such as Hip-Hop and Afro-Pop, gradually developing his production skills and expanding his musical identity. His journey would eventually lead him into new creative spaces and collaborations, establishing him as an emerging talent within the South African music landscape. In early 2023, Frank reached an important milestone in his career through the release of a collaborative album alongside Soa Family and Soa Mattrix. The project helped introduce him to a wider audience and opened the door to significant opportunities, including the opportunity to work with internationally acclaimed artist Usher. From discovering production as a young boy in Mpumalanga to collaborating on an international level, Frank Mabeat's journey is one defined by curiosity, dedication, and an enduring love for music.
