Biography & Metadata
Stratti was a band of three brothers, born in the 70s and raised in the 80s in Liverpool Australia. Jason the youngest, Daniel the middle brother and Darren the eldest. Son's of an earth mover and a dressmaker. Their album Being Human was first released in 2004 and features honest and heartfelt lyrics, delivered with raw acoustic instrumentation. A unique style of mellow suburban acoustic blues. The surfing magazine TRACKS gave it a good rap and it was played around Australia on various regional radio stations during that time. Stuart Coupe invited the boys to perform live and cohost his lyricism show on Sydney’s FBI radio (prior manager of Paul Kelly and Hoodoo Gurus). The boys found a footing in the local Sydney music scene and played some of Sydney's iconic live music venues: Vic on the Park, The Annandale, The Metro, The Sandringham and The Hopetoun. Stratti’s final album, Better Things, was recorded over two years from 2006 and includes Danny Heifetz on drums (Mr Bungle). The album is a blend of 90s grunge, duelling styles, huskies, Sydney sandstone and two-stroke lawn mowers. It invites you into their garage and you leave with grease on your knuckles and a hammer in your hand. In 2008 Darren was shot and killed while protecting a village in Africa. The album remainder locked away in a chest. Time passed by. In 2024 the album Better Things was finally released to coincide with their mother's 80th Birthday.
