Biography & Metadata
Kiran Kai is from South East London and has a distinctly British style that knots cohesion out of a range of influences like R&B, jazz, drill, soul and cloud-rap. His melodies and rhythms are arranged in spiritual patterns, indebted to his dual American and British nationality, while his lyrics muse on the humour-filled tales of the everyday; spellbinding observations from the wistful viewing deck of life soundtracked by music that glows with human intimacy. Years spent working between Los Angeles and London at some of the globe’s best recording studios inform Kiran’s storied life in music. A fateful link-up with Jordan Rakei led to production work on two of his albums, formative experiences that grew his reputation as a collaborator and producer. As a result, he now boasts a range of production credits and collaborations with artists such as Skepta, Mahalia, Mick Jenkins & many more. Ariel Blue marks a significant step for Kiran Kai. His long-awaited debut album lays bare his previously hinted talents and thrusts them into the spotlight. Its 12 tracks cover a dizzying array of musical styles and lyrical ground, all guided by an honest and delicate hand that binds the listening experience with beautiful lucidity. The LP features work with Lex Amor, Duval Timothy & Jesse James Solomon and posits KK as a talent beyond the desk.
