Biography & Metadata
PRXJEK (pronounced PRAH•JEK) exists somewhere between rage and ruin. Originally from Connecticut and now based in California, PRXJEK found his voice in refusing to have just one. Inspired by the boundary-breaking artists of the late 2010s, he began experimenting with sounds that weren’t supposed to belong together. In 2017, his distorted interpretation of TrapMetal became something he called Ragecore. But that was only the beginning. Distorted instrumentals. Blown-out bass. Screaming. Melody. Anger. Depression. Vulnerability disguised as aggression—and sometimes aggression with nothing disguising it at all. One moment, PRXJEK sounds like a riot. The next, like the aftermath. From the aggression of “FACEPLANT” and “BE SILENT WHEN THE KING IS SPEAKING” to the isolation of “Antisocial” and “All Dogs Go To Heaven,” his music exists in the space between extremes, fusing elements of different genres into something that refuses to belong to any of them. What began as a personal escape became a voice for millions of listeners worldwide—the people carrying emotions they can’t release, thoughts they can’t explain, and feelings they’re afraid to say out loud. “I started making music for me—to help lessen my depression and dark thoughts. Then I realized I could help others who feel the same. I can be their catharsis.” PRXJEK doesn’t make music to fit into a genre. He makes it to escape one. MY MUSIC IS GENRELESS. DISTORTION + EMOTION = PRXJEK.
