Biography & Metadata

Firmly established on the global circuit as a dynamic selector from house mecca South Africa, Desiree has become a worldwide touring artist thanks to her expertise in blending a myriad styles into exhilarating DJ sets. A socially conscious artist, Desiree also uses her platform to raise awareness around diversity, as an intersex woman, representing women and queer communities in house music. She has appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix series, Boiler Room and Rinse FM, with regular appearances at many of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals including Coachella, Panorama Bar, Burning Man, DC-10, Hï Ibiza, fabric and Glastonbury. Desiree’s own party brand MMINO represents her vision of equality and inclusivity and has evolved into a music platform, launching with her Intersexy EP in 2025 featuring the title cut ‘Intersexy’ and ‘Khuluma Nami’ (with Jabulile Majola) - with more releases penciled in for 2026. On the production tip, Desiree’s most recent output includes a remix of ‘Four Women’ by Nina Simone. While her growing catalogue includes reworks of ‘King Steps’ by Disclosure and Pa Salieu, ‘Pussy Power’ by Keinemusik (feat. Nomi Ruiz), ‘All I Need’ by LP Giobbi and an inspired remix of Salaelo Selota’s South African jazz classic, ‘Thrrr... Phaaa!’.
