Biography & Metadata

Honesty, hope and heartbreak run through the poetry-laced songs of The Lathums. Everything is sung from the heart. Four young men from an overlooked town in the North of England came together, with no ego or expectations, and quietly set about changing lives. From the first notes of Fight On to the closing chords of How Beautiful Life Can Be, the words of frontman Alex Moore, paired with the shimmering guitar of Scott Concepcion and the understated rhythm section of Ryan Durrans and Matty Murphy, have soundtracked countless Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Unaffected by trends, yet often mentioned alongside The Smiths and Arctic Monkeys, The Lathums announced themselves with their debut album, How Beautiful Life Can Be, in 2021, before building on that success with From Nothing To A Little Bit More in 2023. Their third album, Matter Does Not Define, marked a significant chapter in 2025. Driven by the strength of their songwriting and the community they share with fans, both albums reached No.1 in the UK and helped elevate an already formidable live reputation. Sold-out shows, plus appearances at Glastonbury and a homecoming triumph at Wigan’s Robin Park, cemented The Lathums as a band that speaks to all people and all times. 'Gull In The Wind', added another chapter to a catalogue built on honesty, melody and human connection. Still propelled by their songs and the community around them, The Lathums continue to prove that some stories are only just beginning.
