A sound for Introverts. OPIX bends the borders of progressive psytrance with his interpretation of what keeps the genre so beloved by its fans. Precisely placed atmospheres and rhythms, a sound built for both movement and escape. The sound of the Russian-born German was shaped by the electro-house and EDM movement of the late 2000s (deadmau5 , Wolfgang Gartner). In 2012, a set by Neelix at a friend’s place led him to Progressive Psytrance, which stayed planted in his head ever since. OPIX resists being placed neatly into one category. Every element is given its own space. Every sound has a purpose, while only briefly touching on what defines the subgenre. His debut You Shine on Spin Twist Records opened the door to a wider audience. Click Click , a collaboration with Danish artist ACTFILL , was played across Northern Germany and led to appearances at festivals including Indian Spirit. His music and DJ sets have since taken him beyond Germany, including performances in Brazil, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Thailand. After an 18-month break, OPIX returned in 2026 with a more uncompromising and purist vision. His first concept album, Intricate Journey, looks back on ten years of music, personal challenges and his move to Hamburg. It reflects a decade of reshaping his artistic persona and sound. The result is pure escapism. A space where rhythm, atmosphere and repetition allow the listener to disconnect from the outside world and become immersed in the journey.
