Akin

Born (1999) and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, producer and multi-instrumentalist Akin Paksoy’s exposure to the world of sound began with his foray into percussion and drums as an 8-year-old. Equipped with an early education in rhythm, he soon thereafter picked up the electric guitar and keyboard, which continue to inform his compositions. Akin’s rhythm-heavy and melancholy-driven compositions combine live recorded guitars and synthesizers with drum machines, to generate raw, uninhibited soundscapes. Currently based in New York, Akin performs heady, diversely-influenced sets, mixing vinyl at spots such as Studio 151 & Outer Heaven.
