Chunky Monkey

Chunky Monkey is the sound of a lifetime spent immersed in underground House and UK Garage. Growing up around London’s legendary club scene throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, he witnessed first-hand the evolution of house into one of Britain’s most influential dance music movements. Long before streaming and social media, the scene was built through pirate radio, record shops and packed dancefloors—and Chunky Monkey was right in the middle of it. From helping organise pirate radio broadcasts and DJing live sets to digging through vinyl in London’s iconic record shops, he lived and breathed the culture that shaped a generation. Nights at legendary venues including The End, Bagley’s, The Gas Club, The Coliseum, Equinox, The Aquarium and The Works helped define his sound, while crossing paths with artists including Wookie, The Wideboys, Dem 2, MJ Cole and The Ant Hill Mob. He also DJed at events associated with the legendary Twice As Nice brand and became involved with productions connected to Gold Dust Recordings and Union Jack Records. Today, Chunky Monkey returns with a fresh take on the sound that inspired him. Blending old-school groove with modern production, chunky basslines, uplifting vocals and infectious energy, every release is built for today’s dancefloors while staying true to the spirit of UK Garage’s golden era. With a growing catalogue of music ready for release, this is only the beginning. Old School Roots. New School Bounce. Magical energy :-)
