Silas Armstrong

I’m Silas Armstrong, welcome to my Spotify page! I write, produce and perform all the music myself, then I bring my friends to perform live. I make Space Pop. It’s an invented genre which means I can make whatever music I want. Some info about me: I’m a UK artist from a small town called St. Margaret’s, near London. My parents were in a New Romantic band in the 80s which I used to be embarrassed about, now I’m older I realise how cool that is! Music for me has always been a way for me to process my thoughts and feelings and a space for me to lose myself in. My musical career started as a drummer and liking a lot of bands like Linkin Park and Papa Roach hahah. I was probably 13 when I got the game Music 2000 on Playstation and started producing. Next I thought, I need to learn the piano then I can play anything! Lucky we had a piano and my mum was a teacher. From then on I learned songs off the radio by ear, I wrote down Eminem lyrics to memorise them, and I began writing silly pop songs to impress girls. 
 My parents played lots of classic pop when I was young, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elton John. I went through phases of nu metal to classic rock, drum and bass, emo, dubstep, but I always loved a good pop song. At Uni I used to go to this club night called Last Resort where they’d play Slipknot followed by Britney Spears and I was like THEY GET ME! 
Anyways, it feels like my music is a summary of all the music I’ve loved throughout my life.
