Biography & Metadata

On a mission to revolutionise Telugu Hip Hop globally, Def Jam India's first-ever Telugu rap signee Roopa Subrahmanya Rohan Hulikunta, a.k.a Ronn, is a rapper, songwriter, composer, and entrepreneur from Hyderabad, India, now based in London. His release ‘WHY WOULD I?’ with ChunkyKid hit #75 on Spotify’s Viral Songs India, with further placements on Local Pulse charts in Hyderabad, Kochi, Dubai, and Chennai, marking him as one of Indian hip-hop’s most exciting new voices. The first-ever Telugu rapper to partner with Universal Music India, he recently dropped ‘BONG RIP’ with UK’s rising voice Zuko Rosemeid. Ronn is also the only Asian composer featured on BBC’s Boarders Series 1, with his track “Take A Step Back” airing on BBC Radio London. The soundtrack—featuring five of his tunes—was distributed by Warner Music Africa. He is also the only Telugu rapper to perform at major UK festivals like Boardmasters and The Great Escape, and at IKEA’s live space. As founder of The Clique Records, a platform for Telugu rap focused on innovation, education, and cultural pride, he is redefining South Indian music globally. With funding from Youth Music, People’s Postcode Lottery, and PPL UK, he is now creating his debut EP ‘Welcome to South India’.
