Small Axe

“Roots from Maui to the world — one voice, one vibration, one message.” From the heart of Maui, Hawaiʻi, Small Axe stands as a true messenger of roots reggae — carrying forward the sound of consciousness, unity, and strength. As a member of the Ruff Neck Posse, he represents the foundation side of the islands: heavy basslines, militant drums, and lyrics that speak truth to power. His music bridges the roots of Kingston with the soul of the Pacific — blending timeless one-drop rhythms, deep culture, and heartfelt storytelling. Songs like Run Dem Mouth and Love Attack show both his rebel spirit and his love for the people. Small Axe is not about fame or fashion — it’s about message, meditation, and movement. Word, sound, and power from the islands to the world. “If you are the big tree, we are the Small Axe.”
