Herald is a Japanese Hardstyle producer, DJ, and the visionary founder of the premier event brand DefDistortion. His musical journey began in 2001 at the age of 14, starting his career as a Reggae selector. However, it only took one year for him to discover the raw energy of Hardstyle—a discovery that sparked a lifelong obsession and a complete shift in his musical direction. Driven by a mission to cultivate a true Hardstyle culture in Japan, Herald launched DefDistortion in 2014. Since then, he has made an immense contribution to the Japanese Hardstyle scene, serving as a vital bridge between the domestic underground and the global stage. By hosting high-profile events and performing alongside world-class international artists, he has been a key architect in building the community from the ground up. In 2023, Herald reached a historic milestone by becoming the first-ever Japanese artist to release on the legendary label Scantraxx, debuting the high-octane track "We Made It" on the Prospexx sub-label. Combining over two decades of musical intuition with a relentless passion for the harder styles, Herald continues to push the boundaries of the scene he helped create.
