The Thirukkural 1330

The Thirukkural 1330: Musical Ethos (Kuralisaikkaaviyam 1330) is one of the world’s largest musical projects — a monumental fusion of ancient Tamil literature and global sound. Conceived, composed, and produced by Lydian Nadhaswaram and Amirthavarshini, the project transforms all 1,330 Thirukkurals into music across more than 200 genres, featuring over 1,000 singers aged 3 to 94 from around the world. Spanning over 22 hours of music, this work bridges languages, cultures, and generations — carrying the universal moral and philosophical essence of Thiruvalluvar into the modern world. Each of the ten volumes contains 133 songs, with Tamil lyrics, English translations, and cinematic musical arrangements that range from classical and folk to pop, jazz, orchestral, and world fusion. Beyond music, The Thirukkural 1330 stands as a cultural movement — reviving ancient Tamil wisdom through sound, storytelling, and collaboration. The project continues to launch globally, beginning in Chennai and expanding to countries including Sri Lanka, Australia, the UK, and beyond.
