David Blamires

Multiple Grammy-winning vocalist David Blamires was born in Yorkshire, England but grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. He has been living in Chicago since 1997. David is a veteran composer/producer of music for TV & radio commercials & film, but in recent years, he has been releasing his own songs. In addition to being a dynamic, expressive vocalist with a true 3 & 1/2 octave range, David is also a gifted multi-instrumentalist, & he plays all the instruments on most of his tracks. David got his start in music in the early 80s as a busy session vocalist in Toronto, singing on thousands of jingles, album recordings, and soundtracks. Then as a member of the legendary Pat Metheny Group from 1986-1997, he appeared on three Grammy Award-winning albums and performed for multitudes of fans all over the world. Of note, David appeared with Pat Metheny on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in October, 1992. In 1991 David recorded and released his own self-titled contemporary jazz album, “The David Blamires Group”, featuring the perennial smooth jazz hit "Deep Is The Midnight Sea". David Blamires is a dynamic live performer, appearing at concerts & clubs throughout North America & Europe.
