TyriqueOrDie is at the forefront of a new sound, fusing rap and electronic music in a way that feels fresh and completely his own. A Jamaican Canadian rapper and performer from Galloway in Scarborough, he built his foundation in hip hop before Toronto’s warehouse and DIY party scene expanded his creative world. That collision led him to co-found Toronto Hardcore, a community-driven movement helping shape experimental nightlife in the city, and to develop a sound that keeps rap at its core while drawing from house, drum and bass and other electronic textures. Sharp, provocative and deliberately hard to box in, TyriqueOrDie brings an outsider instinct to everything he does. His records pair agile rap delivery with the pressure and movement of club music, while his immersive, unpredictable live shows connect rap, electronic music and alternative culture in the same creative world.
