Musician and composer. Faran Ensemble. I entered the world of Middle Eastern music through the gates of Oud. Every time I listened to the vibrating strings, unexplained longings arose within me. Unknown for what, or for where. Alongside years of learning and exploration, inspiration came and with it the musical pieces that I have composed . A composition that conveys the longing and wonder of music and the dreams it inspires. I live near the desert, which I strive to explore whenever I can. As if the answers and the solutions are there between the mountains. It is that desert that I seek to resonate. My compositions are instrumental. Free from words and interpretations. Not committed to any of the musical traditions, yet resonating with them. The intention in the composition is to create the unexplained longing, to present characters and to tell a story in melodic movements, which will send every listener to their own inner desert. In his playing, Gad brings together everything he has learned – Turkish ornamentation, Arabic picking style, Persian dynamics – all these are interweaved into his unique playing style, through which Gad is able to express his world of inspiration – the desert and its wildlife, the camels he herds and the peace and quiet of nature.
