Nogu Svelo!

Nogu Svelo! is a New York–based rock band founded by Max Pokrovskiy in Moscow in 1988. For decades, the band has mixed rock, punk, absurdism, irony, and theatrical energy into a sound that has never fit neatly into one genre. After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Nogu Svelo! became one of the most outspoken anti-war voices in Russian rock. The band was banned in Russia and rebuilt its creative life in New York, working with American musicians and increasingly writing and recording in English. Banned in Russia. Reborn in New York. In 2026, Nogu Svelo! released the English-language album Unstable Equilibrium — a record about a world where familiar rules, values, and certainties are constantly shifting. Nearly four decades in, Nogu Svelo! is still loud and moving forward.
