Biography & Metadata
West Coast mainstay Shade Sheist is known for his smooth, G-Funk–inspired sound rooted in Inglewood and South Central Los Angeles. He first broke through in 2002 with “Where I Wanna Be” from his debut album Informal Introduction and has since contributed music across TV, film, and video games. More than two decades later, “Where I Wanna Be” is experiencing a resurgence — featured in Grand Theft Auto V and heard during NFL, MLB, and NBA commercial breaks — introducing a new generation to his classic West Coast style while reminding longtime fans why Shade Sheist remains a defining voice of the scene.
