Biography & Metadata

Tablefox, the powerhouse of New Zealand Alt-rock, has seen extraordinary success in recent years, propelled by their defining album Battles. The band formed out of a combined love for seminal artists from 70's and 80's music such as The Cars, David Bowie, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, Crowded House, Dinosaur Jr. & The Cult. Known for their electrifying performances and having shared stages with icons like James, The Charlatans, Ash, Big Country, stellar* , the feelers and Inspiral Carpets, they have carved a significant niche in the music scene. Their third album, released in 2021, continued their streak of successful singles including Keep Them Guessing, Desire or Love, Tired Soul, Battles, Burning Bridges & Time which collectively dominated the NZ Rock Chart Top 20 for over 3.5 years. In February 2023, Tablefox launched the single Mother alongside a sold-out tour supporting Irish legends Ash. Their subsequent release in July 2023, Only a Matter of Time coincided with their support slot on Inspiral Carpets NZ Tour. In March 2024 the band released Don't Wait for Me to Be What You Want Me to Be, the song immediately resonated with audiences and held a spot in the NZ Rock Chart Top 20 for an entire year. The follow-up single Where Do I Belong? climbed all the way to #1 and was followed in 2025 by 'Digging In' and 'Runaway' . Starting 2026 the released the bold new single 'Into Your Eyes' which made #1 and is now be followed by new single 'Seven Years'.
