Alexandra Căpitănescu is a Romanian singer-songwriter whose project is brought to life alongside a dedicated live band. The lineup features Bogdan Stoican (guitar, songwriter, producer), Matei Cohal (bass, music producer), Luca Șofron (drums), and Thomas Cîrcotă (keyboards). Together, the five musicians have developed a modern sound that blends alternative rock with contemporary pop influences, driven by a close creative bond and a genuine friendship that extends beyond the stage. In 2026, Alexandra Căpitănescu and her band won Eurovision Romania and went on to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Choke Me." Their powerful performance earned them 3rd place in the Grand Final, marking one of Romania's strongest Eurovision results in recent years. The group has quickly become one of the most acclaimed new acts in Romania, receiving the Best Emerging Artist award at the ELLE Style Awards 2026, as well as Best Rock Act and Best New Artist at The Artist Awards 2026. She is also the winner of The Voice of Romania 2023. Alexandra and her band have appeared at some of Romania's biggest music festivals, including UNTOLD, Electric Castle, and Rockstadt Extreme Fest, captivating audiences with their energetic live shows. Following their Eurovision success, the band embarked on a European tour, performing across the continent and continuing to build an international fanbase.
