Punks Jump Up

Punks Jump Up came together in London by a mere accident in 2004. Joe, a born-and-bred Londoner, and David, a Swede, kept bumping into each other at various places, usually somewhere involving music, style or anything visual that looked cool. Coming from a shared love of punk and dance music, street art, fashion and a strong DIY ethos, Punks Jump Up grew out of London’s club scene with a sound built around rough edges, big hooks and records made for the dance floor. Along the way they’ve remixed artists including Miike Snow, Gossip, Crystal Castles, Lykke Li, Kele, Robyn, Tiga, Yelle and Peter Bjorn & John, turning their tracks into distinctly Punks Jump Up dance-floor cuts. Years of travelling, DJing, producing and playing clubs around the world have left Punks Jump Up with an archive of music that captures a particular moment when indie, electro, disco, punk and club culture collided — and still sounds unmistakably PJU today.
