Bossa Viva

Bossa Viva takes listeners on a journey back to the warm and melodic tones of classic Brazilian bossa nova. The two very established Danish musicians pianist Steen Rasmussen and bassist Bastian Sjelberg are at the head of Bossa Viva and both bring a deep understanding of both Brazilian rhythms and American jazz into their music. Their long experience and desire to innovate make each performance feel unique, while maintaining the timeless quality that characterizes bossa nova. Sjelberg's solid, resonant bass playing and Rasmussen's sensitive, melodic piano accompaniment create a dynamic dialogue that complements the amazing songwriting. Bossa Viva often collaborates with Brazilian artists, e.g. singer and guitarist Leo Minax, whose musical roots add an extra dimension of authenticity and depth. Minax's personal ability to convey the feeling in the song means that the classic tunes are resurrected with new vitality..
